PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:xp pro sp2
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

Hi Guys,
I have a very unstable pc. I get different errors each time I start the computer. So far I have had a black windows screen with frozen status bar, disk boot failure messages, frozen welcome screen, hanging pc which nothing shifts except the 'off' button and I generally can only get the thing to fire up if I use 'last known good configuration'! When it does work, some programmes and files don't load, my cd + dvd players are sometimes missing and my broadbank connection is erratic! Some pages load whilst others don't!:( Is it time to ditch it and go back to the good old pen and paper - it was easier to fix and understand:P I have run various spyware programmes and also 'HiJack This' a copy of the log below:

Serously though, it has me foxed. I have already formatted my drive and reinstalled everthing once having lost all my stuff because I could not get it to perform a repair from the install cd. I have now received a hard copy of sp2 from MS but before I do anything else your help could possibly prevent a suicide!! Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi
Make sure you have already run Adaware, Spybot S & D(check for updates) and  as these will do a preliminary clean first. Some files below may not be present after running the above programs.

Then.....
Turn off your System Restore. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;%5BLN%5D;310405] See Here.Reinstate it and create an new restore point when your log is cleaned.Close your browser window and run hjt in safe mode... http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam] How To Run Safemode  and have "Hijack This" fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting "fix checked".  Files highlighted in BLACK will need to be removed from your hard drive. Make sure to have your system set to show hidden files and folders..www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html] How To Show Files .Please post a new log when finished...
