Have you got a virus scanner, up-to-date and all and scanned for any viruses?
Same question for Spyware.

Although it is only a temporary folder. Anything in there should be deleted when you no longer use it. If you want to save programs elsewhere, just rightclick on a download link and choose Save as.. then point to a directory elsewhere.

Yes I do have an up to date virus and spuware checker
and even though I realize that I can save files elsewhere, Whenever I open my Documents it is painstakingly slow and I think this is rooted in the same problem

If you open up any other folder, it is not painstakingly slow? Is anything taking up a lot of CPU cycles, that you checked? Open taskmanager (rightclick on the taskbar, open taskmanager) and check if anything else but System Idle Process is taking up a lot of CPU. If so, what is it?

Also, do you still have enough space left on your harddrive?

No other Folders are slow like that unless they are located in My documents. even then they are faster to load than my documents folder is. I checked the idle process when opening My Documents and it is running upwards of 98 and 99. I'm not sure what this means but this should answer you question, and hopefully you can Help me with this information

Thanks
