I  have internal modem on my computer. Previously (with Win 95 and Win 98) I have been able to send a fax (using my printer as a fax device).  I have been through all the procedures for sending a fax using Win XP HE, but each time the modem rings out I get a BT message saying that the number has not been recognised please dial again.  If I dial direct (without the computer) I get the answering fax machine.  I do have a with held number, and I have had to type in 1470,, previously, but I cannot find where to do this that works, and have no idea what else I may try.  Can anyone help please?
