Operating System Version: windows XP sp2
Problem Application Name & Version: computer audio
Problem Hardware Make & Model: ---
Error Messages: ----

The sound output of my computer has scrambled. I have checked that there is no problems with my speakers. The problem is that some sounds come to low, some come with ripping noises. For instance when i play songs mostly the drum beats are very loud, the vocals are almost unhearable.. and the guitaring is totally distorted beyond recognition, and then there the occasional ripping noises. i  2 yr old pentium 4, 128 mb ram with windows xp.
Any help would be appreciatied.

What is you soundcard? Is it a PCI add-on card and if so, what brand and model is it?
Or is it on your motherboard, in which case we would like to know your motherboard brand & model.
