Operating System Version:Windows XP Home Edition
Version 2002 Service Pack 2
Compaq,
Presario 6330ca
Problem Application Name & Version:CD-ROM Error
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Samsung Cd-rom SC-140B
Error Messages:
I"ve just finished installing a *Toshiba Dvd Writable Drive SD-R5272*,Trouble is I cant play music thru my other cdrom drive now, drive is reading ok, but it will not play from disk.
Previously i had two audio cables going to the onboard audio slots, removed the last from Toshiba,as manual says DVD audio is trasmitted through the data cable not the audio cable.
In the Toshiba i can get it to play music. but in the Samsung Cd-rom where before installation i could play music on the cdrom drive. Ive checked the bios, and all reading ok, since I installed the Samsung on the second ide slot as master, and toshiba on the same cable as *slave*. Can anyone help please. Thank you

Closing thread:
I found the answer myself,My cdrom drive is now playing music again.
Clicked on my computer, then right click the cdrive, left clicked on hardware, chose Samsung

cdrom SC-140B,left click properties, then properties again, the following was is:Digital CD

Playback.(You can have Windows use digital instead of analog playback of Cd audio. This feature

may not work with all CD-R0M devices, disable if you are having problems with CD audio. I

uncheck box below this.
(Enable digital CD audio forthis CD-ROM device.
