You're not going to believe this but I have been asked to help a guy clean up a Windows 95 computer.  I've been looking around at the standard set of the tools (Spybot, AdAware, PestPatrol, ZoneAlarm) and most of them start with windows 98.  Do you have any recommendations as to firewall and spyware scanners?  Heck, just doing Windows updates on this beast is going to be difficult. He says that the Internet keeps dropping its AOL connection and he is "experiencing general slowness when using the Internet" so I figure that, if I can clean it up, maybe I can get the Internet connection working properly again.

Hey, Where did everybody go?  This is the first time I've posted a qustion with absolutely NO response in 3 DAYS! Well, anyway, I did it... I took about 15 hours but I got the old PC cleaned up.  I have a list of tools that I was able to use if anyone cares or has a need to do this other than me.

But I do have one lingering question...
I usually recommend ZoneAlarm but it is not appropriate for Windows 95.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to a free firewall that I can recommend for use by my Windows 95 friend?

Thanks,
Jeff
