Win XP SP2

Hi,
A run of Pestscan on my pc reported that I have spyware on my system. I deleted a good proportion of it but I am stuck with some items I can not locate.

Neither Adaware SE or Spybot S&D seem to pick up on these items.

I wonder if anyone can help ?
Thanks

How many Anti-Virus application do have running?
I see Panda,AVG and McAfee?

Also I see McAfee Firewall and Panda Internet Security...you should have only 1 of each running.

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {CF7C3CF0-4B15-11D1-ABED-709549C10000} - (no file)

O16 - DPF: {2359626E-7524-4F87-B04E-22CD38A0C88C} -
O16 - DPF: {4A3CF76B-EC7A-405D-A67D-8DC6B52AB35B} -
O16 - DPF: {8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93} -

O16 - DPF: {A1B09066-C95C-4EF6-8DFD-3DD0AFE610B6} -
O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0004-ABCDEFFEDCBA} -
O16 - DPF: {CE28D5D2-60CF-4C7D-9FE8-0F47A3308078} -

O16 - DPF: {E77C0D62-882A-456F-AD8F-7C6C9569B8C7} -
O16 - DPF: {EF791A6B-FC12-4C68-99EF-FB9E207A39E6} -

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Turn on System restore,before opening your browser goto TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.

Hi,

As far as the virus software running goes I normally use AVG. However I am doing a trial on the Panda software at the moment. McAfee should have disappeared from my system when I uninstalled a trial version about 1 year ago. I am surprised it is still there. Not sure how to rid the system of it completely, but that's another issue, thanks for pointing this out.

My normal firewall is McAfee PF but the Panda trial seems to have added itself on my system (careless of me). I simply turn the Panda firewall off using the controls in with the panda program.

Anyway back to the log after your advice above -

First let's Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

MPFSERVICE.exe
MpfTray.exe
PasSrv.exe
APVXDWIN.EXE
WebProxy.exe
psimsvc.exe
AVENGINE.EXE
pavsrv51.exe
pavprsrv.exe
PavFnSvr.exe
PasSrv.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

Hi
The Panda files listed in your processes to be stopped list are not able to be halted. Error message "The operation could not be completed, a device attached to the system is not functioning" pops up on each one. I think they are protected by Panda.

Can we leave the Panda alone and just concentrate on the spyware and nasties. I can always sort out AV and firewalls at a later time, that is not a problem to me. However I am uncertain if you have a need to stop these for another reason. Please let me know if that is the case.

So (and I am guessing here) your edited list of things to fix would now read as follows and please correct me if I am wrong.

I will wait your reply before changing anything.
Thanks Smiley
