PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 98SE
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

I have a 4 year old HP Brio with Windows 98SE. About 2 months ago, I had to reinstall Windows, so I bought an MP3 player so I wouldn't lose important files/MP3s. The player is a Creative Nomad 30GB and connects through the USB. I installed the software and everything, and everything transferred without a hitch. However, after I reinstalled windows and tried to transfer the files back to my computer, it would get through a few songs and then my computer would freeze up and I have to restart it manually. I thought maybe it was just a software problem, but today I was trying to transfer pictures to my computer from my Polaroid ION digital cam, which also connects through the USB, and the same thing happens...the computer totally freezes and must be restarted.I have no idea what the problem could be!

Right click the MyComputer icon on your Desktop
Choose Properties

Click the Device Manager Tab
Are there any yellow exclamation marks in there?
If so which devices have them?

Nope, there are no yellow exclamation marks whatsoever. I go to the USB tab and check and it says "This device is working properly".
