Hi maggiewatkins... Download Hijackthis
---Important---Create a permanent folder
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
Download from here
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe

Do a SCAN----Scan will change to SAVE LOG----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log
in a NEW THREAD in Security & Viruses... Don't try and fix anything yet----most entries are harmless and needed.

thanks I'll do that as soon as i get the motherboard to pass the post, but even with all external equipment disconnected ie DVD,CRROM and even the HDD the motherboard still fails to read the bios and pass the POST 9 times out of 10. But once into Windows XP Pro SP2 it will restart no problem , but from initial power on  is a total pain.

Running XP Pro with service pack 2
Asrock p4vt8+ MB
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Prescot
120Gb HDD
16xDVDRW
52XCDRW
NVIDIA FX5500 256Mb Graphics
