PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows ME
Problem Application Name & Version: McAffee (few years old)
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:Something to the effect that McAffee is missing something upon trying to launch... I only get the option to hit OK

Sorry, for the lack of details but I'm in my office instead of at home.  I had a downloaded legit version of McAffee a few years ago that expired within a year so I removed/unistalled it.  However upon booting up ever since then I get the above error.  Something like it's try to boot McAffee but I don't even have it anymore.  Any help on removing this error message would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi murph1016
You obviuosly still have some files left on the computer.
Did you remove it from Add/Remove Programs?
You may need to go in and remove the entries in the Registry.
Start>Run>regedit
When the Registry editor opens click Edit>Find
Type in McAfee and if anything comes up on the right side delete it. You may also get a highlighted folder on the left side also.

Please backup your registry before editing

This is the message I get.  Sorry GeekGirl, that plan didn't work.

McAfee SecurityCenter
Some components of McAfee SecurityCenter are either missing or may not have been installed properly.  Please Reinstall McAfee SecurityCenter.

Press OK

Any other thoughts?

Your saying you didn't find anything in the registry?
Try this:
   1.  Close all application windows.
   2. Click START, then to RUN and type the following into the 'Open' field exactly as shown:

      REGSVR32 MSXML.DLL

   3. Click OK.
   4. Restart the computer.
