Hi

I have recently purchased a second hand all-in-one HP officejet 600. The drivers supplied were not compatable with windows xp, which I use, but I managed to find aome drivers on the internet. My printer works perfectly now apart from one issue. When I scan, the option is there for me to use optical character recognition, however it has been blanked out. There is a help section which lets you install the software needed for this, however, when you try to load this, it says the printer must be uninstalled first. When the printer is uninstalled you cannot access the help file.

Any ideas? Any help appreciated.

Ian

Well if the Printer is working...can you not print off the Instructions you need to get it installed?

Unfortunately not. There are no instructions as such just a hyperlink found from looking up OCR software in the help files. There is a link saying "click here to install the OCR software".
When I do that I get the message "setup has detected a previous installation of the officejet series software" It then asks me to uninstall the software.
When I do that the help files are deleted and I can no longer get to the hyperlink.

Save the link to a notepad document? After uninstalling the printer copy the link back into the URL bar?

Is there something here I'm not understanding?

May I ask where you downloaded the drivers from? Was it from Hewlett Packard's site??

Hi, have tried your suggestion, unfortunately it just saved as text on notepad and the link didn't link.

The driver was downloaded from www.drivers.com

The link I gave above has plenty more than just the drivers.
