PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: XP
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

I have been getting lots of weird email saying a virus has been removed.  Something about sober.32  I don't know.  My hijack this log looks ok to me, and Panda isn't coming up with anything on my computer. I tried to get my hijack this log here and can't because for some stupid reason my right click on my mouse isn't working.  ARGH. I have a new one coming in the mail.  Hopefully it will be here tomorrow...  Anyway, is this a hiding virus I have on my computer?  I am so sick of deleting all this **** email.  Sad  can anyone help?

I can't right click to highlight and copy it. Is there another way to do this?  Something I can use on my keyboard to cut and paste?  Thanks....

When I run the hijack this scan a simple box pops up.  There is no toolbar on it.  Then at the bottom the scan and fix box and the other stuff box.  *sigh*

This is very strange, my right click button will work on the edges, to minimize the screen, or to work the scroll bar, but it won't do anything when I click on the text.  I USED to be able to cut and paste my hijack this log.  I have done it before...

Wow!!All that and it's an OUTDATED version...Shocked

Would you please DELETE the version you have and download the newest version of Hijackthis 1.98.2
---Important---Create a permanent folder
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
Download from here
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe

Do a SCAN----Scan will change to SAVE LOG----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log
here... Don't try and fix anything yet----most entries are harmless and needed.

Please MOVE HJT to a PREMANENT FOLDER..

EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
Download a fresh copy from here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
or here:
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe

Now...

Set Windows to View Hidden Files and Folders

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

ipq,vid.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [svrpcn.exe] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\ipq,vid.exe

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {2863ACA1-9AA0-4432-8CFE-88C12B3B2E5E} - file://C:\Program Files\Upromise_RemindU\Sy1050\Tp1050\scri1050a.htm (file missing) (HKCU)

The next are optional, but recommended for removal,Resource hogs and not needed on startup, but does not disable the program:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mmtask] C:\Program Files\MUSICMATCH\MUSICMATCH Jukebox\mmtask.exe

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the
 following if they are there:

Upromise_RemindU

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\ipq,vid.exe
C:\Program Files\Upromise_RemindU\Sy1050\Tp1050\scri1050a.htm

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Turn on System restore, before opening your browser goto START>CONTROL PANEL>INTERNET OPTIONSand make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.
