Start off by Setting Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

scagent.exe
WinAdSlave.exe
WinAdServ.exe
cmd32.exe
explorer32.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

I tried to delete the following and was successful
cmd32.exe

explorer32.exe was not there

I tried to delete scagent.exe, Winadserv.exe, and WinAdslave.exe as soon as I would delete them they would come right back. I then tried to turn off system restore and got this message.

System restore encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please re-start your machine and try again.

I tried re-starting my machine but I got the same message.

Not sure what to do now.

Thanks geekgirl for the tip My desktop is back to normal, but I think I still have some unwanted programs on my system. There is a dialer that adaware says it removes but it keeps coming back.

In order for this fix to work...ALL open Windows MUST BE closed...inlcluding this one.
Either print the fix,have another PC handy to view or write it out.

Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

scagent.exe
WinAdSlave.exe
WinAdServ.exe
explorer32.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:
