PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:xp
Problem Application Name & Version:virus/trojan/popups
Problem Hardware Make & Model:?
Error Messages:

Here's the thing...the whole thing.

First of all...I get about 5-10 emails a day..that are from random people and are viruses..or lead to viruses..Any way to stop them ?

Secondly....I can't 'remove programs' anymore an error comes up
"c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS0DOS and windows apps. Choose 'close' to terminate the application."  Both do nothing. I believe this to be connected to a virus somehow...

Thirdly....I'm constantly getting pop ups now...and I can't open more than one page in IE without IE crashing and closing.. Oh and redirects....

so that's it...I've tried all the free virus/spyware software....to no avail...it keeps coming back...

Here's my hijack this....

First Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

rwnm.exe
w?nlogon.exe
1on1.exe
WinAdCtl.exe
spykiller.exe
uros.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

Few more lines to remove...
Make sure ALL windows are CLOSED including this one...Grin

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:
O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://public.windupdates.com/get_file.php?bt=ie&p=2771f4c2d9d76c11efab15076909810db67622468051c2dcda9b3176048e177d24ef8eae55a90f1cf9ca8987af88b5e5fd2e80962fecae31f1115f7a5b917a0a29:70793d8e35aa3481295df48967f1fd69

O18 - Filter hijack: application/octet-stream - {6585E5B4-4D2A-4A1D-A219-4102C64BA999} - C:\WINDOWS\chp.dll

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\chp.dll

Turn on System restore,before opening your browser goto START>CONTROL PANEL>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Boot to Safe Mode.

Open up Windows Explorer
Right click your C:\Windows folder and select Search
Enter chp.* in the search box and then click Search Now (or it's equivalent)

See if it gets located that way.

Do up another HJT logfile and let's see if it's still there.

Using the star will have the search function search for all possible extensions to a file called chp.whatever

Then open up regedit and search for {6585E5B4-4D2A-4A1D-A219-4102C64BA999}
To search for that, press Ctrl and F together, for the search dialogue. Then enter the search string and search for it there.
BTW, do it in Safe Mode
