Please help.
I have a few problems with this thing. First I am putting this computer together from an old hp. I bought a new motherboard: ECS pt800ce-a with a 2.6gig intel celeron processor. I got a new video card: Sapphire Radeon ve 32mb sdr agp4x. I bought a 256mb pc2700 ddr via chip. I am using the original cd-rw, dvd, and hard drive. I am using my monitor due to this being my friends computer. Now, when I try to boot it up I either get a blank screen with a cursor blinking or I get the error: (Bios Rom Checksum Error, keyboard error, Detecting floppy drive A Media insert sys. disk.) If anyone has any ideas please help. I did try resetting the cmos, unplugging the drives and booting with the ram, video card, and hard drive only.
Thanks,
Paula

Hmmm...what about the case?
Is this MOBO in the Old HP case?
Is the case P-4 ready?
I'm surprised the MOBO fit!!

Do you have an operating system on the hdd?
Make sure floppy is connected correctly and keyboard is connected. Are you using a USB keyboard by chance?
Are you getting any error beeps ?

Yes I have win 200 pro on the hhd.The floppy is not compatable, it's too old. I'm going to buy one today and retry. No the keyboard is not a usb. As for error beeps, sometimes I get a series of high pitched beeps when I turn on the power but it doesn't happen all the time. And What would make the machine turn on right away after I replug in the power cord? I don't have to hit the button on the front of the case, it comes on by itself.

If you un-plug it while it's still powered up it will(not always) reboot powered up...

Thanks, now I'm going to try the new floppy and I'm also getting a new Ram stick to see if this will help. I'll be back on if it doesn't. And again I appreciate everyone's help.

Your sure that the mobo itself is connected properly to the case and the PSU?
Can you hear the HDD powering up?

Cactus, I will check it again but I'm pretty sure it's connected right. I can hear the hdd powering and the lights on the drives light up like its going through the boot seq.

Does the MOBO have On-board Video and Audio??

What about another Video card...do you have access to one to try?
