Hi All, The hard drive on my sons pc has completley crashed.
I am going to purchase a new HD, I do have a copy of XP but my question is how do I access the new hard drive and the cd drive to enable me to install the operating system ?

Easiest way: Put in new harddrive in the place of the old one;
make sure it's setup as the new Master drive through the jumpers on the back;
then power up the system;
open CDROM drive;
insert Windows XP CD;
go into the BIOS of the PC;
ensure that primary startup drive is the CDROM drive;
save BIOS;
reboot the system and let Windows setup take you on a ride to partition & format the drive, then install Windows on it.
