PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: windows XP Profesional
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:




I had windows xp home edition and the sound work fine.  Today I installed Windows XP profesional and there is no sound, the sound icon doesnt appear.  I don't know what to do, the speakers are conected and everything.  When I go to sound and audio properties I can't select anything.

ex: Device device = no playback devices

volume: device volume = I can increase or decrease the volume, the options are disabled or something.

When you installed Pro your drivers were lost. There's no way around this. You'll need to go to your PC's site and download all of the drivers for your model. You can also post the make and model of your computer in this thread and I'll go find the url of the files.

no man, my computer uses pentium 4 and has different aspects.

I fixed the problem, I went to hp home page and downloaded the original sound drivers.Grin
