PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: windows xp sp2
Problem Application Name & Version: Mainlu unreal 2004 and starwars battlefront
Problem Hardware Make & Model: unknown, see my sig for system details :-)
Error Messages: Total system freeze needing to be reset when playing games.

Hello,

My system is locking up randomly on some games, mainly unreal 2004 and starwars battle front, even the keyboard is unresponsive and I end up resetting the system.

My system has the newest game patches and drivers for sound and graphics card (I even tried the beta driver from nvidia).

I tried...
Reinstalling the game.
uninstalling and reinstalling drivers.
turning off the onboard sound incase it was sound related.
Checking to see if the thing was plugged in right (I'm not that dumb).

The one thing that does confuse me is under device manager "Location:  PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0" and shouldn't it be showing as on the APG slot?

My system specs are in my sig, any ideas ladies and gents?

Thanks,

~Wayne

How long has the problem been going on? When did it start?

Lo there,

It was after installing the new geforce 6600gt 128mb (AGP) graphics card... it works fine for 99% of the time, just on some things the system freezes.

I just tried reinstalling windows xp and turning agp to x4 with fastwrite off (using rivatuner, can't find those options on my asus bios).

I'm starting to think it's the power supply, as i just learned it's q-tech which is famous for being junk even if it is a 450w supplie.

Thanks for the reply,

Wayne
