PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows XP
Problem Application Name & Version:USB camera
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Unknown

Error Messages:

I recently pulled an old USB camera out of storage. It came with my old Windows 98 SE system which I bought from ABS computers in 1999.
When I plug it in to the USB port the new hardware wizard pops up, but does not recognize it. After going to "add new hardware" in control panel, I eventually get a message saying something like "this device needs driver for installation". Unfortunately I no longer have the installation CD (if I ever did!), and the camera has no markings on it whatsoever (no manufacturer/no model #).
Does anyone know of a way I can install this, or do I have to go out and buy a whole new camera???Undecided

Not unless you can tell us what brand and model the camera is.

maybe you can try http://www.driverguide.com, it is a good site that offers free drivers for all win OS, but you USB camera should have atleast a logo on it, check the bottom of the camera, like the base and see if there is a sticker giving any info

Usaully there is a FCC number stamped or embedded in the plastic casing somewhere.
Hard to see sometimes, you might have to feel for bumps like raised lettering...
If you can find that...we can identify the Device for you.
