Check in Device Manager to see if the driver is ok.  The driver may only say Cd rom drive and not CD RW as well.  Then you will need a driver update.

right click My Comp.-Properties-Device Manager tab

We can update the Drivers online...
The INFO on the front of the drive will tell us the MFG'er..we need that!
We also need a MODEL #...that you can get by following my directions below.

Go back to Device Manager...
Highlight the CD-Drive...write done the model number...post back.

Ok...no that's not what I want.

Goto
START
Right click MyComputer
Choose PROPERTIES
Click the HARDWARE TAB
Click DEVICE MANAGER

Click the + sign beside DVD/CD-Rom drive
Now ALL your ROMS show up in Drop List

Write them down...post back the info here for me... Grin
