What is the easiest way to transfere movie files from my old note book to a new one?. The file are to big for my usb chip and when I copy to cd they are read only.

Yes and? After you copy them from CD back to your new notebook, you can change the file attribute of each file coming from the CD from read-only to normal, just by rightclicking on each file, properties, unchecking the read-only attribute and clicking OK.

Yet since they are movies, why would you need them to not be read-only? Will you add to them?
Or just leave them on the CD, if only for backup and/or safe-keeping.
