PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:WinXP Pro
Problem Application Name & Version:Drivers and related software
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Microsoft Cordless Phone System MP-900
Error Messages:

Looking for drivers and software for the MS Cordless Phone System. MS hasn't made Win2000/XP drivers for it and has even shut down the internet page for "their' product. Its an awesome system and would like to get it up and running under WinXP. Now I have to run a Win98SE box for it and a digitizing tablet that has the same driver issues.

Thanks Jee. I've seen that support "or lack of" page from MS. ???I just wonder if anyone out there has tried to develop thier own software and drivers for the phone system. If anyone has read up on this phone then they would understand why I'm so eager to get it up and running under MS's Roll Eyes"flagship" OS. Thanks again for the help.

I am in the same sort of boot as you, but I am trying to even go a step further.

I to have a MP-900 (Microsoft Cordless Phone) and like you am a bit choked at MS for not developing drivers for 2k & XP.  That being said I have had some luck running it in 2000.  I had to install it and run in under WIndows 98 then upgrade 98 to 2000, making sure to run the software in compatibility mode.

Like I said I have had some limited success with this.  Ran it on one box and it worked fine, but then tried it on my main box and it won't work proprerly and I don;t have a lot of time to monkey with it.

I am actually in the process now of trying to get it running under Linux.  I am thinking of ReactOS or Ubunutu with WIne...but again I haven;t had a lot oftime to mess with this and not much luck finding anything linux related to do with it.

I don't know if this will get a reply but who knows.

Thanks for the reply TekBudda,

I thought of the same W2K setup using compatibility mode but then thought, "Hey!!! I shouldn't HAVE to $%*&% do this!!!!" I like the idea of using ReactOS or Ubuntu. I have half a dozen freebie Ubuntu CDs (Thanks Ubuntu) but never heard of ReactOS till today. Gonna give it a try tonight. Keep me posted on your success and I'll do the same.

ReactOS is a prject that is attempting to create an open source operating system that utilizes the windows drive model and is designed to run windows software.  Sort of like WINE but not...but they do work with the WINE project as well.  My thinking is that if you can get the MS Call Manager software and IE working in ReactOS or Ubuntu, you should be able to get the system working with very little tweaking.  I think the hardest part would be getting the phone hardware to work...configging the serial port and such.

I am not sure when I will get a chance to try but I would be interested is sharing ideas...been trying to do this for a few years.  My ultimate goal woth it, is to have a computer in the kitchen that will act as sort of a family message board, etc but accesses the network as well.  The MS Phone would basically act as the phone and the computer as the answering machne.  Hook a scanner up to it and you have a fax as well.  Voila!  (If only it were that easy) ;-)
