PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:W98SE
Problem Application Name & Version:Windows?
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Dell XPST450
Error Messages:Windows cannot find IMGSERVR.exe. This program is needed for opening files of type'Graphic Image Server 1.0'

PC has worked fine for 5 yrs and only recently has this message appeared, but it means I cannot open jpegs and maybe even other picture files. Any ideas where I can get the program to download and why it has disappeared in the first place?Sad

Don't you have any other image viewing software? You may want to reinstall the package that you are using at this moment, or install something else, like the freeware Irfanview.

Jee, many thanks I will try Irfan. I guess I am just mystified by the sudden change, and it seems I am not alone from the messages posted around the net. but I haven't see the solution yet.
As regards reinstalling, I don't know which of the various software packages that I have contains it. I had assumed it was part of W98, which is a big reinstall that I don't feel quite up to yet!
