Cactus - The data I pasted was all that was in the file. I re-ran HJT twice to make sure and it produced the same result file. Can you still help?

I've never seen such a short logfile..Shocked

Ok..let's go with what we have Pigskin.. Smiley

Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

wuauclt.exe
msams.exe
kalvdun32.exe

Turn off System Restore WinXP WinME. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm
O2 - BHO: &EliteBar - {28CAEFF3-0F18-4036-B504-51D73BD81ABC} - C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar\EliteToolBar version 59.dll
O3 - Toolbar: &EliteBar - {825CF5BD-8862-4430-B771-0C15C5CA8DEF} - C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar\EliteToolBar version 59.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Media Player] msams.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kalvsys] C:\windows\system32\kalvdun32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Windows Media Player] msams.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows Media Player] msams.exe

O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the
 following if they are there:

EliteToolBar

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msams.exe
C:\WINDOWS\EliteToolBar\EliteToolBar version 59.dll
C:\windows\system32\kalvdun32.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

In Xp, here are some locations of Temp files

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Turn on System Restore

Before opening your browser goto START>CONTROL PANEL>INTERNET OPTIONSand make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.

I will make the changes when I get home and post the new HJT log. Computer has very little software on it which probably explains the small log file.

Below is my latest HJT log file. The tasks I could not perform was to delete the EliteToolBar from the Add/Remove Program option in Control Panel. I also received a Messenger Service warning stating "Your computer may have critical errors in registry and file system" and asking me to go to www.errorfixer.com.

Cactus - After the post last night I had other new issues. I have ran Adaware, SpyBot, and HJT since our last communication. Each of their logs are posted below. My computer when starting up displays LSA Shell (Export Version) encountered a problem & needed to close. After I would connect to the internet, I would get a System Shutdown warning stating it was initiated by NY Authority System and caused by C:\Windows\Sys32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status copy -1073741819.
