I have got windows 2k installed,
P3-450, 512MB ram
10+30 gig HDD
ABit BX7 mobo
creative GeForce 1 256  with latest 4.1.0.9 dentonator drivers from N`vidia

I have has the following problem with various versions of drivers for GFX card & monitor :
Desktop Icons & QuickLaunch Bar Icons or the TaksBar Icons, random times, random icons, loose their colours, and either look negative, white&light greys, or completely blacked out.
when I pass the mouse over the icon - no need to press the mouse button - the icon is refreshed to its original colors.
Ususally, if there is a colour problem, it has happened to more than one Icon at a time, maybe 3 or 4..

any ideas ?

It doesnt bother me so much, just wondering if anybody else has experienced this, and if so, what was done about it?

Maybe give these drivers a try. Sometimes the manufactuers drivers work better.

tincan,
thanks for the link for the creative drivers, I`ll try them, but depending how much creative have worked on the openGL side of the drivers, they may be no good for me, as I have a graphics package that requires opengl, but the old creative drivers I used to have, didnt support OGL very well on my PC/ GFX package.
but I`ll try anyway, and let you know Smiley
thanks

Sylvain,
I`ll try the icon cache idea from your page, thanks,
I`ll let you know how it does Smiley
