Have a PC Club computer. ABIT Motherboard, Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz. When I want to turn on the computer, I have to (1) first press the power button on the front of the case, (2) wait for about 10 seconds, (3) toggle the power supply switch on the back of the computer, (4) wait 10 seconds (5) turn the switch back on, then press the power button on the front of the computer. If this doesn't work I have to repeat the process.

I can tell it's going to work, when the monitor light turns green. Otherwise, I can hear the hard drives spinning, but nothing happens.

What's up with this? Motherboard problem? Power supply problem?

Thanks,

Jim Johnson

Hi,

Try holding the power button on the front of the case for 5 seconds.

Hi, I tried this both with the computer on and off. No change.

I would tend to say power supply, they tend to fail a little more, but I could very well be the motherboard as well. Do you have another system you could test the power supply with?

Finally had some time to mess around with it. It was the power supply.
Thanks
