When I open some e-mail messages a window with a red x appears instead of the picture. Am I lacking some program that would open that picture. If so how can I find out what program that may be?

Hi,

The place holder with an X where images should be usually means the image is not available, either the image is missing or the path in the HTML page is invalid.

Are you able to see any images through your mail program?

Are you using Outlook Express or another mail program?

If you go in the control panel, then click on internet options, then click on the advanced tab. Scroll down until you see a section called Multimedia. Look here for Show Pictures, make sure this is checked. Hope this helps

Tincan. thanks but when I got to Show Pictures, it was checked. I am beginning to think it is a small program I am missing on the lap top (using windows ME) . Now to find out what program it might be because that program is on my desk top using Windows XP
