Operating System Version: WinXP Pro
Problem Application Name & Version: File and Printer Sharing
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

Ok, I'm trying to get file and printer sharing working over my home network consisting of 2 computers running win xp pro that are connected to a linksys router that has a cable modem connected to it. Both computers can see themselves in my network places, however, they cannot see each other nor can they be found with find people or computers. And, yes I have looked through the check list. The only difference between the two computers is that one has netbios and the other does not however, it is supposed to be a tcp/ip network. Also, both computers can ping each others internal ip adresses 192.168.1.***. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

On the WINS tab of the Advanced TCP/IP settings, try to "Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP" instead of "Default" on both systems.
