Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Turn off System Restore WinXP WinME. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O16 - DPF: {24311111-1111-1121-1111-111191113457} - file://c:\eied_s7.cab
O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-611111193457} - file://c:\ex.cab
O16 - DPF: {33331111-1111-1111-1111-611111193458} - file://c:\ex.cab

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{1324631A-B736-44BA-A81F-634045BECA8B}: NameServer = 203.134.64.66 203.134.65.66 << THIS IS NOT YOUR IP ADDRESS..IF YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE IT HAVE HJT REMOVE THESE 2 LINES
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\..\{1324631A-B736-44BA-A81F-634045BECA8B}: NameServer = 203.134.64.66 203.134.65.66
O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34545} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

c:\eied_s7.cab
c:\ex.cab
C:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2.dll

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

In Xp, here are some locations of Temp files

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Turn on System Restore

Before opening your browser goto START>CONTROL PANEL>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.

Thanks for the help Cactus, and sorry about the late response, I've been having internet problems among other things. Thanks again.

I've noticed that the last two things in the log, both of the O17 items, appear only when I scan with hijackthis while Im connected to the Net, if I I do a Hijack this scan while offline those two items don't appear in the scan. Is this of any importance?

Ok ZooM .. your logfile looks good.
That IP in the 017 entry is not your IP but is in the same range so it should be ok.

I want you to Download Hijackthis Ver.1.99
---Important---Create a permanent folder
EG---- Open MyDocuments----Right click an empty spot and select NEW---Folder----Name the new folder HJT ---this is where you will want to save Hijackthis too, also, backups will be stored there.
Download from here
http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe

This is the latest version and will tell me more .. Grin

Just save to the Folder you already have and overwrite the EXE in there now.

Run it and post back with THAT logfile.
