i just got a Canon mv530i camcorder, installed all the software but it wont find the camcorder for some reason it wont autodetect it. i tried add new hardware but it doesnt find it there either. i put the driver and sys files for it in the right places because new hardware wizard wont start up but that didnt help as it doesnt know that the camcorder exists, it wont find it, i've done everything by the book, leads and power etc is all fine, just when i plug it in it doesnt find it. please help. my system is windows 98 and the camcorder needs to be connected with a usb port

p.s. b4 i tried to install a camera but it couldnt find that either.

Hi,

Check your USB device in Device Manager

Start > Settings > Control Panel
System > Device Manager tab

What is under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"?
Any yellow dot in from of these devices?
