PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: WinXP Home
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Dell P4 2.66 GHz
Error Messages: Best Search Engine/Website Viewer

When I click on the Internet Explorer icon after botting up my machine, I get a message that ask if my computer is infected with spyware.  Then it resets my homepage (ie.  im on MSN and suddenly before my eyes it changes).  It also installs a s*x link titled "s*x" ("C:\Program Files\WebSiteViewer\127051.exe" /ac:127051 /sk: /lc: /ul).

I just purchase McAfee Internet Security and tried to install it, but no luck.  Could my problem have something to do with it.

Thanks,
Georgeg

Attached is my log file.

Please make a folder for Hijackthis.
It's not adviseable to leave it on your desktop, backups will be spread all over your screen ..
Right click an empty spot in the MyDocuments Folder----left click NEW---Folder
Name it HJT---copy and paste hijackthis to that new folder and delete the one on the desktop originally downloaded.
Don't delete backups until everything is running ...

Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

tibs3.exe
wuauclt.exe <<< STOP THIS PROCESS
tmpf01.exe
ttuh.exe

Turn off System Restore WinXP WinME. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B72F75B8-93F3-429D-B13E-660B206D897A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\snim.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Systems Restart] Rundll32.exe snim.dll, DllRegisterServer
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tibs3] C:\WINDOWS\System32\tibs3.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aida] C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\ttuh.exe

O18 - Filter: text/html - {B72F75B8-93F3-429D-B13E-660B206D897A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\snim.dll

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the
 following if they are there:

WebSiteViewer

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\tibs3.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\tmpf01.exe
C:\Program Files\WebSiteViewer\127051.dlr
C:\WINDOWS\System32\snim.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\ttuh.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\jgdwus40.dll

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

In Xp, here are some locations of Temp files

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Turn on System Restore

Before opening your browser goto START>CONTROL PANEL>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.
