Hi and Welcome
It may help you if you print out or copy this page for easy reference.. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order its listed. Please Keep your browser and all open programs closed (except firewalls and antivirus) when you are carrying out the fixes.

Please do not run HJT on the desktop or a temp folder. Its best run in a dedicated folder of its own.

Turn off System Restore instructions (WinXP)

PANCAKE!!!! You're awesome... thank you SO MUCH! Everything works like it used to... folder open from my desktop... no viruses detected.. or any unusual files starting up in my processes everytime I open up IE!

Just a note... for the last step where you asked me to delete a few files from the WINDOWS (or WIN/SYS32) directory.... I didn't find d3cr32.exe or addbe32.dd... but I DID see a addqs32.exe... I didn't touch it... but it looked similiar to that dll... I don't know if that matters... but just wanted to let you know... thanks SOOO much again!!

Just incase you cared to see it again... here's my HJT log after following your instructions.. THANKS AGAIN!!!:

Ok your log is now clean.Sometimes you wont find some files as the are removed by the cleaning process...and yes you can delete addqs32.exe

To help prevent future spyware installations/infections, please read the Anti-spyware section and feel free use the tools provided.

Well Met

I am having the same problems. I tried the above, and it didn't seem to work.  I am still getting Dr. Watson Post Mortom debugger errors whenever I try to open any icon on my desktop.  Also most of the above files that I was to remove with Hijak This weren't there.  Also the files mentioned above in C:/windows and C:/windows/system32 were not there either.  I scanned in both save and regular windows mode.  Here is the log:
