PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:redhat 9
hello friends !
when i was installing redhat 9 on one machine in beetween it says to make boot disk
but the problem is that i had put my floppy in the drive and the boot disk created (with out any notification as in the case of windows 98 --a bar appearing saying that some process is running)any how when i try to boot from that floppy after complet installation says after the firstboot process
it won't work i thought there might be floppy i am using is courrupt
ok within a half hour i got another chance to make boot disk (in my lab another on another pc)i took another floppy and do the same process but wont work
a screen appears saying syslinux....
and nothing happens
kindly solve this problem

is there any method to make linux floppy bootable when the installation completes
on more thing i tried the rawrite method but it wont work
says i was runnning windows 98 machine with a checked floppy drive (to ensure the flopy drive is ok and the floppy is too i make a file on it and check the floppy showing the file or not and delete that file to check the floppy i am using is ok)but it again gives
the following error
the program tried to execute invallid instruction
fault location :0A68:6940
Intrupt in service :none
what the command i have given
H:\dosutils\>rawrite

You can create a bootdisk after an installation is complete with redhat by running this command.

/sbin/mkbootdisk <kernel-verison>

So if you have kernel-2.6.8... then you command would be

/sbin/mkbootdisk 2.6.8
