Operating System Version: Windows XP Home Edition
Problem Application Name & Version: Windows XP
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:Blue screen at startup saying that windows restarted to prevent damage

I was downloading IE SP1 when it froze. After I restarted, I got a blue screen saying that windows had shutdown to prevent damage. I restarted again and got the same message. The Stop error was 0x0000007e (0x0000005, 0xfc53c927, 0xFC907c84, OxFC907984) I reinstalled XP into c:\windows.000 so i could use the internet. I also have no icons and no start menu programs. Please Help MEEEEEE

Have you tried to re-install WinXP in the original folder c:\windows?
This may fix your error message and should keep your installed software configuration.
