PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: windows 98 se
Problem Application Name & Version: ckqhvborobkv.exe
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Compaq Presario 5441
Error Messages: Cannot find the file ckqhvborobkv.exe make sure the path and file name are correct and that all required libraries are available.

Hi it's me again...well im still having computer crashes and it seems my file ckqhvborobkv.exe has been deleted. Even though i did not delete when doing a virus scan i just quarantined it. My sound is still gone also. No matter how many times i re-install the driver for windows 98 se..i think i either need destroy this computer or junk it. There are no speakers hooked to the tower and i cannot remove the sound card. And if someone could maybe upload me the file ckqhvborobkv.exe i would appreciate it located in C:\Windows. Since i can't load my windows CD and that requires sound to start up my computer. Sound = Freezing. Even if there is no sound at all there is random freezing often now...Sad

Have you tried booting into dos mode. Then at the prompt type in:

scanreg /? <enter>

Look for a switch that says fix registry. I think it is /r but I am not sure.
Then enter the following at the prompt:

scanreg /r (if it is that)

This will scan your registry and fix any corruption.
This has saved me a few times. If that dosn't work, then you might want to backup your ino, format the hard drive and reinstall windows.

if anything ill try the format for now...but if i do the format the sound will still be down. I don't know why but the sound will not work no matter how many times i format the computer.

I heard that if you shut down and restart your computer it takes a lot more energy than it does when it just stays on. is this true?
