Operating System Version: Windows XP Home Edition
Graphics Controller: Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
Problem Application Name & Version: Counter Strike 1.6, Counter Strike: Source

The problem I'm having is with my fps. Running CS 1.6 I get about 20-30fps. Playable, but not very good. Smoke grenades take it down to about 5-10fps. Running CS:S I only get 3fps. I've fully updated my graphics drivers and all of that. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can do.

Get a dedicated videocard. The onboard videochip is taking up your CPU plus part of your board's memory, but it will never be as fast as an AGP or PCI videocard with its own GPU.

Hmm I bought half life 2 yesterday and when i run in cs:source online sometimes it's kind of laggy even with a normal ping of 50. It s not the fps when that gets low it has a different feel so I wonder what s making the game run (a little but) sluggish at times and how I can resolve this, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks in advance (Y)

Did you let Steam update it fully? If not, did you check on the Steam Support site?

So a thing like this wouldn't even help? That's an edit to get rid of the stuttering after you applied the patch.

I think that will help, but also through enabling preload the stuttering pretty much stopped ("cl_preload "1". I will add this in anyway, thanks!
