Operating System Version:Windows XP Pro,  SP1
Problem Application Name & Version: mpdat.exe
Problem Hardware Make & Model: mpdat.exe
Error Messages: "Windows cannot find 'mpdat.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

While we're at it, you may want to try Stinger for starters.

the file seems to be a virus or a worm. in this case you better abandon win xp and get a linux distribution (e.g. suse) or you buy a mac. Wink the advantage is, you'll never have a virus again.

if you want to keep xp, tnen:
format your hd, create 3 partitions (system, programs, my files). re-install xp and the rest of the software needed.

the advantage here is, if xp f... up, you simply can delete it and install it again without losing your datas.
