Hello,

I have a problem in playing mpg files from the internet. It used to work fine but for some reason it doesn't anymore.

1. I can play mpg files stored on my pc.
2. I can play wmv files stored on my pc.
3. I can play wmv files directly from the internet
4. I can NOT play anymore mpg files directly from the internet

When I open such a file WMP opens and says "connecting" after which the program gets hung.

Help is much appreciated, thanks.

Roel

Operating System Version: Windows XP SP2

Als je het in het Vlaams wilt doen kan dat, but let's for the moment keep to English. Wink
I take it you checked if WMP is still associating MPEG files? Are these MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 files? In other words, audio or video?

Hallo,

Yes, I checked that and mpeg is still to be played by WMP. That's the funny thing, it plays it fine for files on the hard disk, but when trying to open from the internet it opens a WMP window, says connecting and then it hungs meaning that I need to abort it to use WMP again.

I'm using Mozilla Suite as my browser, it will open WMP9 as the media player if needed. Even in a small box window.
What browser are you using and did you check if the WMP player is still in the plugins folder?
