PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Norton Internet Security
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

I have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on my computer.  Everything works fine except, for some odd reason, it puts a lot of my incoming emails into the antispam folder, instead of my "in" box. Sad I went into the program and made sure that specific addresses were "allowed" and even typed them over to make sure....then I get the message that that particular address was already in my "allowed" list.

It's even putting emails from my son in the antispam folder!!  Undecided

Anybody got any ideas?  Huh?

Thanks.

Gere

I'd say, that's NAV for you. It'll always know better than you what is good and what isn't, hence why we personally think it's such bloatware. But I can't help you with it. I'll check into it though and call back on this later, but anyone else with a custom clue better jump in. Smiley

What email client are you using?

Thanks Jee, and I guess you hit the nail on the head regarding Norton.  Anyhow, I am using Outlook Express for my email.

I wonder if anybody else recently installed Norton Internet Security and is experiencing the same problem?  It seems that most all of my incoming mail now goes directly to the antispam folder!

Isn't it just a thing of setting up the filters in Outlook Express correctly? I mean, I can't see how NAV can be so obtrusive that it changes where mail goes, if you set up your filters in OE correctly.

Have you checked if you can disable the NAV antispam option?

Okay, I did check into it, weaving in and out of threads full of people wondering how they could disable this. The only sure-fire way I have found is by uninstalling NIS. Because even if you disable the antispam option, it'll keep on running!!

Another way would be to keep it running, delete all the entries in the allow list and disallow list and start over. But personally, I'd switch to Mozilla Suite or Firefox & Thunderbird, if I were you. Much better at sifting SPAM from the mailbox. And not so obtrusive that it always thinks better than you. Coupled to the good and free AVG 7 Free edition with cool email scanner, your life would become oh so much better.
