PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: XP PRO
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

I had re-installed WinXP Pro on a new hdd and now when I go to turn off computer / turn off, it shows "It is now safe to turn off your computer" instead of powering down the computer. Why is this so? Please advice.  Thanks.

I found this Microsoft article that may help

Your Computer May Not Shut Down After You Upgrade to Windows XP
