i am using my usb port at back of pc for modem but want to pug in printer/scanner into usb, help!

Yes and? Usually PCs have more than one USB port. If you don't give any details on your PC, there's little we can do to help you. You can slot up to 127 devices in a single USB port, daisy chained, using powered USB hubs.
