PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:  98SE
Problem Application Name & Version:  ABBYY Fine Reader Pro 6.02
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages: asks for: bitmap.cpp,65

When I manipulate the data windows within ABBYY Fine Reader Pro 6.02 I some times get a message saying " program cannot reference

D:\FineReader6\Shell\Shared\bitmap.cpp,65

So I searched the net and found only one similar file and created the address. It comes up less often now, but when I push the appz hard it gives me a c++ warning and then crashes the system  :-(.

Any Ideas on how and where to get this file?Huh?

Berty

The only thing I can suggest is to try and reinstall the application.

All in good if the file existed in the setup directory, which it does not!

In fact 'TinCan the Linux man' the solution was this:

D:\FineReader\Shell\Shared\bitmap.cpp,65

to-

D:\FineReader6\Shell\Shared\bitmap.cpp,65

note the inclusion of the number 6 in the first reference.

BUT what is bitmap.cpp! What is a *.cpp file antway?

Oh and how do I get a 'moderator' tag as I'm getting sick of this 'baby member tag', please....:-)

How about 'super dude of 'papa doc' or just 'moderator'!

Thanks again and see you on some elses case no doubt  :-)

the ".../Shell/Frame/ShellUICallback.cpp, 39" error

Yes, I have been there recently

the "...:\FineReader6\Shell\Shared\bitmap.cpp,65" error

Yes, I was just there

BUT to answer your question :-)

Yes, I have almost immediately after installing the software. But yes you are right to ask because the original appz has huge problems with it and the service pack is really just a patch for an originally ****py programming effort.

I believe that the issue has dissapeared with the inclusion of this   < bitmap.cpp >  file where it is supposed to be.

I mean I just pulled it from a site that was doing some experimental programming and I have no idea what, where or how it could be the right file  or even correct release. It was there, I got, I answered the stupid appz question, and now it is happy to do what ever I want.

But what is a cpp file

Berty

PS, I appreciate the link, thanks. If you use this software yourself and get this type of error, please tell me and I will be glad to send you the file.
