PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP
Problem Application Name & Version: Excel 2002 & Excel 2000
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

I saved a file in Excel 2002 in floppy and try to open it in another PC that uses Excel 2002. However the file cannot be opened with the error message " The file cannot be accessed.  The file may be read only, or you may be trying to access a read only location"

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Try copying the file to the hard drive and open it from there or close the "copy protect" tab on the floppy disk. If this doesn't do it, right click the file from Windows Explorer and select "Properties", make sure the file attribute is not "Read Only"

Try saving as a 97/2000 workbook or symbolic link.

The problem has been resolved by saving it in Excel 97-2000 format.

Thanks very much for help(I should have known that because I encounted this problem in the past, but the error message is different this time).

Becareful about saving between diferent versions of the same release.
