hi ive been having a problem with my downloads , if its a large download im not getting fast download speed and it often freezes and i have to restart the download so got star downloader pro which has helped but some files wont download through it therefor im back to the slow downloads and often it freezing again , now i could understand this if i  was using dial up but im on a 2meg line and sometimes getting a downloa speed of around 10Kb/s  , that aint rite , any ideas guys/gals

Hi:

While this could be caused by several things, one of the likely culprits is an MTU incompatibility. Do you have a hardware router or
firewall? Does your DSL endpoint (modem)include routing/firewalling features? Check with your ISP. While you're at it, check what MTU your ISP recommends. An MTU setting in your router/firewall (or Windows, if you're not using one) that is incompatible with your ISP can often cause these types of problems. If you're not technical, your best best is to contact your ISP tech support by phone.
