When using the internet I often get a little red cross in a square where I should have either a picture or running text. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Hello mrtubs .. Smiley

The red cross generally means that a graphic couldn't be loaded, that could be for a variety of reasons.

If you right click the cross and choose properties you can find out what kind of file it is, so we can check if you're only having problems with PNG, GIF, JPG or whatever file types.

Try this....
Open Internet explorer>Tools>Internet options>Advanced tab
Scroll down to the "Multimedia" section and make sure the "Show pictures" box is checked.

If you get a GIF file from your hard disk, and shift right click it, and do Open With and tell it to open with Internet Explorer does that work?

If it does, repeat that procedure and use the checkbox to tell it to open with IE each time.

Let me know how you make out.
