Somehow I downloaded and installed something that hijacked the URL I had configured as Internet Explorer's start page.  I ran Lavasoft's Adaware that removed malware it found, and the the start page that had been configured by the hijack fell back to the default: www.msn.com

However now I can't change the start page to anything else but:  www.msn.com  ...  I did a little research online, and found a registry value referring to about:blank that I deleted with HijackThis:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER:Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main"Start Page" ("about:blank")

But still I can't set the start page to one I sent myself, or to just a blank page.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

TS

PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:

Please download HijackThis.  It will create a directory folder for you. Run a scan and save the log file.  Post the whole log file here.  Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required).  This program will help  determine what,if any, spyware/malware is on your computer.

Hey Pancake... Could you give me a little help with this issue again...  It's kind of dropped of the main forum page for a while now.

Thx
