PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: window xp
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

Good day all, here is my problem. Even if I am log on or not some annoying pop up appear they seems to come from www.fix-comp or any other telling me to download some program for security or other. ( hard to explain) I wrote to the company and they told me it was coming from messenger services but I don't have messenger install on my puter. Here is what they told me to do, I have done so but did not find any of the program.

The pop up / message is caused by the Windows Messenger Service . You can disable the Messenger service by completing the following:

Click Start - Run
Type:  services.msc , Click OK
Find Messenger Service in the list of services
Double Click Messenger
Click Stop
set Startup Type:  to Disabled
Click Ok

Is there a way to take it off. Thank you for your answer and I do hope all is enough clear.

Try this....

Click [Start] [Run] and in the [Open:] box type or copy/paste the following command:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windi\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Click [OK]

------------------------------------------------------

If you still need help with your popups...
Please download HijackThis.  It will create a directory folder for you. Run a scan and save the log file.  Post the whole log file here.  Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required).  This program will help  determine what,if any, spyware/malware is on your computer.
