PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP Pro SP2
Problem Application Name & Version:IE 6 SP2
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Dell PC laptop. More specs can be provided if needed
Error Messages: see below.

I've run updated versions of Adaware, Search and Destroy, Microsoft's Beta1, and X-cleaner. Popups continue, and anti-virus detects trojan downloaders as well. Microsoft's Beta1 detects programs trying to install, as well. Anyhow, here's the hijackthis log:

Hello and Welcome to MyTechSupport.ca

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Scan your pc with one of these free online scanners:
Panda ActiveScan
RAV AntiVirus
Housecall.  Be sure to put a check the box beside AutoClean.

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there.  Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. You will use this later.

Go to My Computer >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing / visible. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files option.

Reboot your system in Safe Mode (By repeatedly tapping the F8 key until the menu appears).

Go into Hijack This->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click Kill process for each one (You must kill them one at a time).

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\JMDACC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\exclock.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eqnertui.exe

Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [oF2S3ET] exclock.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe] C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [X-Cleaner Deluxe] "C:\PROGRA~1\X-CLEA~1\XCleaner_full.exe" -turbo -autostart -NOREBOOT
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Zot2ROfsO] eqnertui.exe

O16 - DPF: {E06E2E99-0AA1-11D4-ABA6-0060082AA75C} (GpcContainer Class) - https://mci.webex.com/client/v_mywebex-mciprodins/webex/ieatgpc.cab

Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked.

Delete the following Files indicated in RED and Folders indicated in BLUE if they still exist.

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\JMDACC.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\exclock.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\eqnertui.exe
C:\WINDOWS\VCMnet11.exe

Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button.  When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes.
Empty your Recycle Bin.

Reboot your System in normal mode.

Please post a fresh Hijack This log so that we can check if your system is clean.

thanks GeekGirl! I followed your directions and still seem to have problems. X-Cleaner is an anti-spyware program that seems to work well. I'm sort of reluctant to uninstall it.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\MK9D28.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsvsvc\nsvsvc.exe

Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Nsv] C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsvsvc\nsvsvc.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [tsvcin] C:\WINDOWS\system32\n20050308.EXE

020 - Winlogon Notify: ThemeManager - C:\WINDOWS\system32\f4j20e1oeh.dll

Do you know the IP or Domain 'perkin-elmer.com'? If not, fix this entry.

O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = perkin-elmer.com
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = perkin-elmer.com
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: SearchList = perkin-elmer.com

Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked.

Delete the following Files indicated in RED and Folders indicated in BLUE if they still exist.

C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\MK9D28.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\nsvsvc\
C:\WINDOWS\system32\n20050308.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\f4j20e1oeh.dll

Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button.  When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes.
Empty your Recycle Bin.

Reboot your System in normal mode.

Please post a fresh Hijack This log so that we can check if your system is clean.

Thanks GeekGirl!

I have followed your instructions and I am still receiving popups. I have noticed something odd with the Windows/Temp folder. I have tried to manually delete these files and was not successful. CleanUp! could not remove these files either. They are ~DF563.TMP and ~DF4D72.TMP

Regarding perkin-elmer, they are related to my company.

Here is the new Hijackthis log

You have DameWare Mini Remote Control installed on your system. Do you know who installed it? Read this http://www.dameware.com/support/kb/article.aspx?ID=100005
