Just wondering, what is the difference between a 256 meg SDRam with all the chips on one side to a 256 meg SDRam with chips on both sides?

Which one is better, are they compatible etc.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

A 256mb single-sided SIMM/DIMM has a higher density chip (packs more per chip) than a 256 mb double-sided memory modules. In general, if the motherboard works with both types then either one will do. Keep in mind however that sometimes mixing single-sided and double-sided memory modules in the same system may cause memory related problems (because of timing) and should be avoided if at all possible. Stick to one kind and manufacturer (brand) if you can.
