Hi everyone,

I am new here, posted a problem in OS Forum, and I would like to ask a couple of questions related to SE optimization.

A few of us are discussing a robots.txt file we saw which had this path: Disallow: /main/page/search/links/

1st question is: This site has a link exchange directory in the root directory. Does this syntax actually disallow link exchange or does it relate to a links directory in the search directory?

My next question is about SE popularity. Let's say mytechsupport.ca would have a link exchange with a hundred different sites but would cheat them by disallowing that directory for robots. Would that actually explain its popularity? Or would you say that it has nothing to do with SE popularity?

I'm starting to love this forum Smiley
